Toad's Place presents: Where We Came From Tour November 19th, 2022, in New Haven, CT

American Authors "brought it on home" opening the last night of Phillip Phillips' "Where We Came From" tour in New Haven! Even playing an acoustic set, the four-piece band's energy was certainly not lacking, and they paired excellently with Phillips' headlining set. The band played songs spanning their entire career of nearly a decade together, with the audience receiving new release "Blind For Love," the heartfelt "Deep Water," and sing-alongs "Go Big or Go Home," "Best Day of My Life," and a cover of The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" with equal enthusiasm. Staples of 2010's stomp-and-holler folk pop playlists, the band's relentless positivity was the perfect way to set the stage for an overall incredibly joyful evening filled with just the right balance of nostalgia and hope. We look forward to even more new music from them and another tour come springtime!
