Matt Maeson brought his special acoustic solo experience to Toad’s Place in New Haven on April 19, 2024 as part of his headlining That's My Cue Tour. Audience members in the sold out crowd traveled near and far to catch the singer-songwriter’s intimate performance featuring an extensive collection of old and new songs and storytellings.

Setting the tone for the evening was opening act Brother Bird, the solo project of Nashville based artist Caroline Swon, who quickly captivated the audience with her beautiful vocals and humble, soft spoken demeanor.

From the moment that Matt Maeson graced the stage with just his acoustic guitar in hand, fans were enthralled by his effortlessly charming stage presence and emotionally charged setlist. Kicking off the night with the tour’s title track “That’s My Cue” followed by favorites like “Me and My Friends Are Lonely," "Cringe," and "Cliffy," Matt took ample time between songs to share the stories and experiences that originally inspired the creation of each of the beloved tracks. From outrunning the cops and spending some time living in a trailer with his old friend, to his journey of becoming a full-time artist with all of the trials and tribulations of his personal life in between, Matt invited everyone in the room to accompany him throughout memory lane as he continued to joke and share brutally honest insight into the encounters that shaped him most as a person. For the entire duration of the performance, the crowd was simply pleased to be along for the listening journey and sang their hearts out for tunes like "Tribulation," "Get Happy," "Cut Deep," and even breakout hit "Hallucinogenics." With the addition of "Beggar's Song" before breaking into the encore track "Legacy," the singer ensured that fans of all ages got to hear at least one of their most treasured songs featured on the setlist for a night of live music that was exceptionally one of a kind.
