In celebration of the release of their seventh studio album Satellites, Ireland based alternative rock band The Script returned to Boston for a headlining performance at the city’s iconic Citizens House of Blues. Between opening for P!nk’s Summer Carnival tour and planning their own headlining world tour with dates scheduled throughout 2025, the band has made a triumphant return in 2024.
The Script was joined by indie folk singer-songwriter Fairhazel, who deeply expressed his gratitude for having the opportunity to open the show. With roots from the UK, France, and South Africa, Fairhazel shared his incredibly intimate sound with the crowd as he took the stage with only his acoustic guitar in hand. Offering honest storytellings of the inspirations behind his music between each song, he quickly captured the hearts of listeners ahead of the release of his upcoming album Other People’s Houses.

By the time The Script stepped foot into the spotlight, audience members could hardly contain their excitement. Kicking off the show with their iconic hit single “Superheroes” followed by more recent releases “Rain” and “Both Ways”, the band seemed overjoyed to be reunited with their Boston based fans. Frontman and lead singer Danny O’Donoghue took frequent pauses between tracks to address the crowd and shared how the past year had been one of the most difficult times the band has ever experienced after the passing of their beloved bandmate Mark Sheehan. “Mark would have loved a night like this” Danny expressed, before diving into an emotionally charged performance of “If You Could See Me Now.”
As the night went on, the energy between the band and the audience only continued to grow stronger. From foundational releases that shaped the band’s success like “Man Who Can’t Be Moved,”“Nothing,” and “For the First Time,” to newer favorites like “At Your Feet,” “Inside Out,” and “Home Is Where The Hurt Is,” The Script crafted the perfect setlist that appealed to all fans, old and new, in the room. Completing the performance with “Breakeven” and a shower of confetti during “Hall of Fame,” the band ended the night on an exceptional high that left everyone with a profound sense of gratitude for still getting to experience their favorite soundtracks of the past 15 years live in concert.
